  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ripe mangoes, sliced
  • Sesame seeds or mung beans for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Drain the rice and steam it for about 30 minutes until tender.
  4. In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Reserve 1/4 cup of the coconut sauce for serving.
  6. Mix the remaining coconut sauce with the cooked rice and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve the sticky rice with sliced mango on the side and drizzle with reserved coconut sauce.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds or mung beans if desired.
